Integration
SpeedSize offers one of the easiest and fastest integrations in the industry. While our plugins for Magento, Shopify, and WordPress/WooCommerce provide seamless setup, integrating SpeedSize with a custom-built website is just as straightforward.
You simply need to add a prefix containing the SpeedSize CDN (aicdn.speedsize.com) and your unique Client ID to your media URLs. SpeedSize will then automatically optimize your images and videos, with no additional configuration required.
Note: We recommend deploying SpeedSize on a staging environment and performing sanity testing before rolling it out to production.
To integrate SpeedSize, update your media URLs to follow this structure:
Where:
- SPEEDSIZE CDN + CLIENT_ID – The SpeedSize prefix that includes the SpeedSize CDN and your unique Client ID, provided via email.
- LINK – The absolute path to your media file (image or video).
- OPTIONAL PARAMETERS – Not required for basic integration. Transformation parameters can be used to adjust media size, format, cropping, background, and other display properties. For more details, refer to the SpeedSize Parameters Guide.
Note: Alternatively, SpeedSize can be configured to use a custom branded subdomain (for example, media.website.com) as the media prefix, resulting in cleaner, fully brand-consistent media URLs. In this setup, the URL structure will differ: the custom subdomain is used as a prefix instead of the default SpeedSize CDN domain, or, depending on the configuration, it may replace both the CDN domain and the Client ID in the URL.
For details, see: Custom Branded Subdomain Setup.
Once the links are updated, SpeedSize will begin processing your media files. This process typically takes 10-30 minutes, depending on the media size.
