Integration Guide for Shopify

Deployment

Integrating SpeedSize with your Shopify website is quick and straightforward, thanks to our native Shopify plugin. You only need admin access to your Shopify Console.

Note: We recommend deploying SpeedSize on a cloned testing theme and performing sanity testing before rolling it out to production.

Below is a step-by-step guide to deploy the plugin:

  1. Go to the SpeedSize app page on the Shopify App Store.
  2. Click Install and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  3. After installation, you will be redirected to the SpeedSize Settings page. Configure the following settings:
     
    • Enable Neuroscience Media Optimization: Select Yes from the dropdown to activate SpeedSize.
    • SpeedSize ID: Enter your unique Client ID provided via email.
    • Theme to AI-Optimize: For testing, select your cloned testing theme in the second dropdown.
  4. Leave other settings at their default values, then click Save at the bottom of the page.
     
    • SpeedSize app will start processing your theme, which usually takes up to 20 minutes. The processing status will be displayed under the Info section on the right.
    • Once finished, SpeedSize will be active on your staging theme, allowing you to test and validate. 
    • Note: Media files are optimized by SpeedSize when requested by real users, and processing typically takes up to 10 minutes after the first request. Videos may take longer depending on length and complexity. There is no downtime during this process.
  5. Going live: Once testing is complete, switch the first dropdown under Theme to AI-Optimize to Follow the main/published theme (this ensures SpeedSize stays active on your live theme, even if you change it in the future). Click Save again.

That’s it! The app will begin processing your live theme, and once finished, SpeedSize will be live on your website.

Once the setup is completed, you may want to verify that SpeedSize is integrated correctly and that your images are being processed. Refer to this guide for testing instructions.
